The weekend was the truth

2Nai means true.

(Pronounced) Tunay means true. But before we get into that, I want to send a shout to to Jeremy for being a cool-ass-guy; Hung out, grubbed, and just had a chill time over all. It’s nice to take a brief break from some of the pre-production tasks involved in my movie, Just Like That.

We had a lunch pitstop at Thai Original BBQ in South San Francisco and I wasn’t disappointed with the choice. I don’t think I’ve ever said no to Thai. There was a good amount of flavor in the dishes, despite having a “just mircrowave’d” feel to it. I won’t hold it against them, I’m not picky. I’d definitely go again.

Immediately after our late lunch we headed over to the “2Nai means Truth” which is, for lack of a better description, a combination of hip hop showcase and art gallery installation. Parking was a challenge with Carnaval happening on the parallel street. If you’ve been keeping up with my adventures, you’d recall that Carnaval was one of the earliest urban photo sessions I ever did! Here’s a link to that batch of photos.

It was a really chill vibe –with some familiar faces mixed in the crowd! Unlike some of the previous showcases I’ve had the opportunity to attend (with musician friends), there wasn’t a green room for artists to best cattled into. I loved this! Everyone was in the mix, mingling, and really feeding off of each other. Which, in truth (no pun intended), any artist can appreciate.

I ran into some friends!

And met a couple of new friends!

Reesa and AJ from TPNG PNT BND (Tipping Point Band)

The amusing thing about these two is –we’d just been acquainted on Twitter a couple of weeks ago while I was in LA for the LAAPFF, and immediately hit it off. Funny to finally run into them here, in the Bay. Good times, great ladies, sway-inducing music. Check out their music here, TPNG PNT BAND (Tipping Point Band)

My only regret is not taking enough photos. But, that’s attributed to just going to how much the music took me out of “work” mode. That’s a good thing!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the next one. In the meantime, if you’d like to learn more about it, follow these links!

With any good adventure, it starts and ends with food. On my way back, I made a quick stop by my favorite hot dog vendor off of a public transit (yeah, that was pretty specific).

Hotlink!
